Postpartum Doula

Lactation Support

  • Initial consultation

  • Support via email and phone throughout pregnancy

  • Prenatal visits (approx 2-3) during pregnancy

  • Evidence-based information and handouts

  • 24/7 on call duty starting at 37 weeks

  • Continued in person support after the onset of active labor

  • Event details of the birth & note taking

  • 1-2 hours of continued support after delivery.

  • In-home postpartum visit 1-2 weeks after birth

  • Resources to support groups or resources for special circumstances.

  • Support and encourage mother/baby breastfeeding relationship

  • Assist the journey in transitioning to new baby in home

  • Provide evidence based information to support the family

  • Short errands to pick up essentials

  • Educating in diapering options and babywearing

  • Help with other children in the home

  • Provide relief allowing new mother to rest

  • Link between various local community support groups

  • Light cooking and meal prep

  • Light cleaning (after cooking, putting dishes away, toys, nursery)

  • I am able to discuss the option of breastfeeding

  • Address and questions or concerns surrounding breastfeeding

  • Provide guidance for concerns after your child is born

  • Provide resources to several outlets for special circumstances

  • Help educate what are ideal practices for breastfeeding mothers

  • Map a nutrition plan for lactating mothers

As a Doula, I  Do Not:
  • Diagnose medical conditions

  • Perform clinical procedures

  • Interpret medical diagnoses or clinical results

  • Prescribe or administer treatment of medical conditions

  • Perform clinical procedures

  • Make decisions for the birthing woman

  • Speak for the birthing woman

  • Attend births that are intentionally unassisted by qualified medical professionals
